Project Boost Off
(Introduction to reading)
Project Boost Off is a program designed for early reading with toddler 9 months of age to 24 month. Reading to toddlers at the earliest stage gives a better foundation in reading. Statics show that toddlers who are read to at an early stage have much better vocabulary, better communication skills. Reading sessions are held twice a week each session one hour. Toddler enjoys 20 minutes of reading, 20 minutes phonics sings along nursery rhymes and 20 minutes of shared play time.
After SchoolCD-RAC operates an after school program that caters to low-income youth. The program's main focus is to improve literacy through after school program. Our staff also offers homework help. Through the after school program, we strive to enhance student's learning skills in a safe and positive learning environment. Over the past ten years more than 160 youth have enrolled in our after school program. This year our after school program will begin September 2, 2013 .The ages for children sign up is 5-13.

Health Awareness and Disease Prevention
Health awareness classes are coordinated monthly to inform our youth of issues of serious concern to the black community, such as high blood pressure, heart disease, Diabetes and HIV. Classes are coordinated with the Mississippi State Department of Health as well as a local registered nurse.

Youth Violence
(Stop the Violence)
CD-RAC introduces Youth Violence to the Jonestown community. Youth Violence is a reoccurring thing, and it become more dangerous and serious each year. This year CD-RAC encourages our youth to stop the violence and the gang involvement. We embrace our youth and guide them on the right path.
